Artiqah is a certified Speech-Language Therapist who graduated from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) and is registered as an allied health practitioner under Section 17 of the Allied Health Professions Act 2016. She started her career at Sarawak General Hospital, Kuching and has managed a variety of speech therapy-related cases; mainly children with speech and language delay, adults with swallowing disorders and infants with feeding difficulties. In 2015, she was involved in the Cochlear Implant Program under the Ministry of Health which is a program for patients with hearing impairments upto 2021, upon which she was transferred to the Miri General Hospital for a well-deserved promotion.
In the Miri General Hospital, she heads the Speech-Language Therapy Unit. With 11 years of working experience, she is very passionate in educating families on effective communication strategies for children or adults who have language impairments. She believes that families play an essential role in all aspects of service and is eager to work together with the families of her patients to plan and create therapy goals to achieve good outcomes for both patients and their families.
